Why Pre-Mixing Pigment Pastes Matters — A Tip from Colour Passion
At Colour Passion, we’re passionate about helping creators get flawless results — and one of the simplest ways to improve your resin work is to always pre-mix your pigment pastes before adding them to resin.
Pigments naturally settle over time, and if they aren’t fully blended back together, you may see streaky colour, dark specks, uneven opacity, or even curing inconsistencies.
A quick pre-mix helps prevent:
- Patchy or uneven colour
- Heavy pigment spots or clumps
- Pigment sinking or rising
- Soft or tacky patches in cured pieces
How to do it:
Stir your pigment paste thoroughly, scraping the sides and bottom to reincorporate all settled pigment. Once smooth and uniform, add it to your resin in small amounts and mix again.
This simple 30–60 second step ensures consistent colour, reliable curing, and the professional finish Colour Passion products are known for.
